What Causes Sore Throat on One Side?

Ever experienced a sore feeling on one side of your throat which persists for a week? It may be sore throat gone badly. If it hurts when you swallow and it feels like something’s stuck on one side of the throat, and the pain won’t go away, it may be throat abscess or infection of the lymph nodes of your neck and throat area.

Tonsil abscess
is a pocket full of pus stuck in the back of the tonsil. Such an infection may be bacterial in origin, and a doctor may prescribe antibiotics. Your doctor may diagnose strep throat or mononucleosis (which requires body rest to enable the body to build antibodies).
