Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Associated with Sore Throat
One of the most irritating symptoms sometimes accompanying the common cold is a irritated throat. This throat ailment is also associated with a less common condition. Maybe you have heard of this condition and maybe you have not. Chronic fatigue syndrome is a mysterious ailment that causes severe, continual fatigue that can seriously hamper a person’s ability to carry out daily chores.
For a long time, before the condition had a name, people who displayed symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome were thought to be lazy, unmotivated or depressed. Now that the condition has a name it has given credibility to those who suffer from its symptoms. However, while sufferers may no longer be referred to as lazy or depressed there is still no cure for the condition and even the cause is unknown.
The fatigue that comes with it is not the result of high levels of activity and it does not go away with rest. What we would consider to be normal amounts of activity can cause a person with this condition to experience extreme tiredness and the inability to focus. These symptoms generally last for longer than a day and reoccur periodically.
Other symptoms can include difficulty concentrating, difficulty thinking clearly and concisely and trouble remembering. Physical occurrences related to the condition are fever, headaches, muscle pain, joint pain, tender glands in the neck and armpits and throat.
Until a cause and cure are known, treatment for chronic fatigue syndrome is exercise and quality sleep.
