Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Associated with Sore Throat

One of the most annoying symptoms that often develops with the common cold is a sore throat. This throat ailment is also associated with a less common malady. Maybe you have heard of this condition and maybe you have not.

Chronic fatigue syndrome is a mysterious ailment that causes severe, continual tiredness that can seriously hamper a person’s ability to carry out daily chores.

For a long time, before the condition had a name, people who displayed symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome were thought to be lazy, unmotivated or depressed. Now that the condition has been defined and given a name it has given credibility to those who suffer with the symptoms. However, while sufferers may no longer be referred to as lazy or depressed, there is still no cure for the condition and even the cause remains unknown.

It would seem natural that rest would be the primary and most beneficial treatment for such a condition as chronic fatigue syndrome. Unfortunately, the fatigue that comes with the ailment is not the result of high levels of activity and does not go away with rest. What most of us consider normal amounts of activity can cause a person with this condition to experience extreme tiredness and an inability to focus. These symptoms generally last for longer than a day and reoccur periodically.

Other symptoms can include difficulty concentrating, difficulty thinking clearly and concisely and trouble remembering. Physical occurrences related to the condition are fever, headaches, muscle pain and joint pain, and tender glands in the neck, armpits and throat.

Why suffers of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome develop irritated throats is just another of the many unanswered questions surrounding this mysterious condition. Suffers often become disheartened because of the lack of answers. Until a cause and cure are known, treatment for chronic fatigue syndrome is exercise and quality sleep.
